St. Therese School hosts open houses, casino night benefit

St. Therese School will hold open houses for the public at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12.

Located at 131st and Halsey, the Catholic school runs preschool through eighth grade, with all-day kindergarten and preschool available.

The school will host its second casino night Saturday, Feb. 22, as a school benefit.

The event includes appetizers, blackjack, craps, poker and many prizes. There also will be silent auction items. Beer and wine are available for purchase.

Children’s free health fair coming Feb. 8

The Multnomah Dental Society will hold its annual Free Children’s Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Reynolds Middle School, 1200 N.E. 201st Ave., Fairview.

The fair will provide a variety of health and dental-related services at no charge.

Children will receive a goodie bag, including a toothbrush, toothpaste and information on taking care of their teeth. There will be entertainment and a door prize drawing for an Xbox 360.

The fair is part of the American Dental Association’s nationwide program, Give Kids A Smile, that mobilizes the nation’s dentists during February to provide free oral health care services to thousands of low-income children.
