The timing couldn't have been any worse for these two bank robbery suspects, and it it couldn't have been any better for police investigators.
Multiple banks were robbed in the Portland metro area by a man wielding a demand note during a period spanning Saturday, Nov. 16, to Monday, Nov. 18.
Investigators with the Portland Police Bureau, Gresham Police Department, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Scappoose Police Department, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office worked together to share information and develop possible suspects.
Then, at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, detectives were conducting further investigation when two suspects allegedly committed another bank robbery in the presence of the investigators.
Police reported the suspects attempted to escape, but were quickly taken into custody by robbery detectives. The robbery was inside the Fred Meyer store, located a 22855 Northeast Park Lane in Wood Village.
The suspects are Ryan Joseph Beisley, 29, and Travis David Johnson, 20, who were arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a U.S. Marshal's hold. Formal federal bank robbery charges are pending.
No additional information was available, but federal affidavits are expected to be available on Wednesday.
