CHERRY PARK PLAZA - Maleesa MadsenThere's no bad time to take stock of how you're doing and make plans for good health well into the future. As we get older, it's even more important to stay on top of our fitness and health. That's why Cherry Park Plaza has rounded up five tips for taking charge of your health this year:

1.) Get your cholesterol checked—Learning more about your cholesterol levels will help you make the right food and lifestyle choices to meet your personal health goals.

2.) Eat more fruits and vegetables—Delicious fruits and vegetables can help reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic conditions.

3.) Encourage meaningful relationships and social activity—Social isolation is linked to anxiety, depression, and an increased risk of mental and physical ailments. Stay connected with family and friends, and you'll remain active, alert, and emotionally healthy.

4.) Get Moving—Not only does physical exercise help us maintain energy levels and burn off extra calories, it helps to beat the winter blues. Start with something low-impact like yoga and go from there.

5.) Boost your brain fitness—Whether it's a board game or crossword puzzle, giving your brain a workout doesn't have to feel like a chore, so have fun with it!

With wonderful dining amenities and many great activities, Cherry Park Plaza aims to help you take charge of healthy aging. Stop by for our "Antique Roadshow" on 2/18 from 1 pm-4 pm, or for Happy Hour with Rachel Varayane on 2/24 at 3 pm, and get to know us!
