Forest Grove grad nets game-winner
Brandi Dawson keyed the Oregon State womens soccer team to its first victory of the season by scoring the games only goal against Texas on Friday in Corvallis.
A 2010 Forest Grove graduate, Dawson sent a smashing header past Longhorns goalkeeper Abby Smith off of Jacy Drobneys corner kick from the right side in the 48th minute. The shot was one of two Dawson put on frame for the Beavers (1-2-1) after coming off the bench.
Dawson, a 5-foot-5 midfielder, has now scored five career goals, including two game-winners, for Oregon State. She came off the bench again on Sunday and recorded two shots in a 1-1 double-overtime tie against Wisconsin.
