Spring Break brings creative camps

A number of camps are springing up in western Washington County just in time for Spring Break. Local offerings include:

- Theatre in the Grove is offering a Spring Break theater camp for actors ages 8 to 16, March 24 to 28, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $150. - The Crafty Fox, 2013 Pacific Ave. in Forest Grove, is offering a spring break camp for kids March 25 to 28. Kids will learn essential crafts in detail each day from 10 a.m. to noon. It costs $85 per child and $75 per sibling. Sign up at thecraftyfoxshop.com.

- The Washington County Museum in downtwon Hillsboro will host an Explorers of the West camp for kids ages 8 to 12 during Spring Break. The camp runs March 24 to 28, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The camp explores early western pioneers and the trades that opened up the Oregon Territory. $225 for the week. Register at washingtoncountymuseum.org.

- The Walters Cultural Arts Center in downtown Hillsboro also plans to host a slew of camps for creative kids: Ages 5 to 8 can sign up for a “Let’s Make Music Camp.” Kids ages 8 to 12 have the option of paint, drawing and music camps.
