Saturday, Jan. 11, Portland’s Emmy Blue will be at the Washington County Museum to share her bright, happy fairy tales, folk tales and legends about magical creatures that live deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, including her signature Squatchie Legends.

A children’s entertainer, Blue tells her original tales throughout the Pacific Northwest.

She earned bachelor’s degrees in English and education, and graduate degrees in folklore and arts and administration. In addition to her professional writing, illustrating and storytelling career, Blue has worked as a teacher and professor.

Blue has also implemented arts programs for nonprofit organizations, camps, government organizations and schools.

Each month, the Washington County Museum, 120 E. Main St. in Hillsboro, hosts a free Family Day, giving families a chance to take advantage of the fun and educational resources found at the museum.

Family Day runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Blue will start her performance at 11 a.m.
