Rave reviewer shocked at TITG show

I recently attended Theatre in the Grove’s musical production of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." What a wonderful show!

Director Zachary Centers and his cast and crew have produced a hilarious and thoroughly entertaining production. I haven’t laughed that hard at any show in a very long time.

What shocked me most about this production was the lack of audience attending. (I counted less than 30.) I cannot understand why -- with a community theatre as vibrant as Forest Grove’s -- all shows aren't selling out.

I have seen most shows there in the last few years and there are consistently excellent. It can’t be the cost. Seeing a live show in Portland is going to cost you $25 to $100. Theatre in the Grove’s $14 adult ticket price seems like a steal. If it’s that you've never heard of this production, I strongly recommend that you get tickets as soon as possible to this amazing production. Regina Romero
