Brought to you for the month of November by Nate Boyd proud owner of The Gym in Forest Grove, Fitness Expert

Nate boyd b

The start of the holiday eating season and not just over eating, but staying up late, drinking too much eggnog and lazing around the fireplace or big screen TV watching football or sappy holiday movies. Following is some advice on how to stay on your fitness track this year.

Stay hydrated and eat a normal sized meal on the

holiday. Right. How about stay hydrated, resume your regular diet as soon as possible and tack on a few more workouts during the next week?

Yes, you can live with that.

Working out is one of the best things you can do for yourself after a big binge. Maximize calorie burn by doing moderate- to high-intensity exercises—they'll increase your metabolism for 12 to 24 hours after you're done working out. See Nate or one of his holiday helpers for advice.

A food binge can definitely derail your healthy habits

and goals, but don't beat yourself up. Instead, go to The Gym, you have the power to get back on track and move on.
