EVENTS

Flea Market

There will be a flea market from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday-Sunday, June 27-29, at the Harding Grange, 21552 S. Fischers Mill Road.

Food will be provided by the grange kitchen. Vendors will sell a variety of new and used items. Proceeds will go toward community service. For more information, call 503-631-2012.

Douglas Ridge Rifle Club Open House

The Douglas Ridge Rifle Club will hold an open house from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, June 28.

American Legion/Auxiliary Fourth of July Breakfast

The American Legion and Auxiliary Carl Douglas Post No. 74 will celebrate the Fourth of July with a breakfast from 7-11 a.m. Friday, July 4, at the Odd Fellows Hall, 267 S.W. Second Ave.

For $6 per person, a menu of eggs, pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice will be served. Donations of soaps, lotions, notes, envelopes, combs, toothpaste and brushes are being sought to send to service personnel overseas.

Foster Farm open for the season

Philip Foster Farm is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, Aug. 31. Admission is $5 per person or $20 for a family.

Annual memberships are available for $15 per person or $35 per family. Members may visit the farm for free throughout 2014.

1970s class reunion

All Estacada High School graduates from the 1970s are invited to a potluck reunion from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Timber Bowl.

ARTS & CRAFTS

Distressed Chair Painting

The Wade Creek House is offering a workshop on distressed chair painting with image transfer for a cushion from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28.

Learn basic paining and distressing techniques as well as how to recover the seat with canvas adorned with your choice of an image of a wreath with a crown, bird or bee.

The class costs $65. All materials, including the chair, are included. Call Wade Creek House at 503-630-7556 to reserve a space.

Quilt club meets

The Skip-a-Week Quilt Club meets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday at the Garfield Grange on Divers Road. For more information, call Ruth at 503-630-4669.

Spinning group

The Estacada spinning and fiber arts group meets from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Fridays at Betty Veveiros CPA, 309 S.W. Highway 224.

CRUISE-INS

Kruise In For Kids

The second annual Kruise-In for Kids will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, 19175 S.E. Eagle Creek Road.

There will be food, music, trophies, raffles, goodie bags and fun for the whole family.

The event is a fundraiser to purchase backpacks and school supplies for local children in need. There is a $15 registration fee. Call 503-348-7276 for more information on registration.

FREE MEALS

Free Summer Meal Program

The Estacada School District offers free meals to children ages 18 and under at four sites through Aug. 16.

Breakfast will be served from 8:30-9 a.m. Monday through Friday at Clackamas River Elementary, 301 N.E. Second Ave.

Lunches will be available noon to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday at Clackamas River Elementary; 11:20-11:50 a.m. Monday-Friday at Eagle Crest Mobile Estates, 25800 S.E. Eagle Creek Rd; noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday at Eagle Creek Elementary, 30391 S.E. Highway 211 and noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday at the Estacada Skate Park/Library, 825 N.W. Wade Street. Adults may purchase breakfast for $2.50 and lunch for $3.50.

Community Center

The Estacada Community Center offers free breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon the third Saturday of each month. The center is at 200 S.W. Clubhouse Drive.

MEETING

Community Center Board of Directors

The Friends of the Estacada Community Center Board of Directors meets 4 p.m. the third Thursday of every month at the center at 200 S.W. Clubhouse Drive. Meetings are open to the public.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Ranger guided canoe and kayak tours

Milo McIver State Park Rangers will lead canoe and kayak tours of the River Mill Reservoir throughout the summer.

The tours are an opportunity to learn about the history and ecology of the reservoir and to see a variety of plants animals.

Participants must be at least 6 years old, and anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Kids ages 6-12 may not kayak on their own, but must be in a double kayak with an adult.

Canoe tours are led from 6-8 p.m. Mondays. Kayak tours are 6-8 p.m. Thursdays and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Sundays.

The tours cost $15 per person. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets are included in the cost.

RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

Holy Spirit conference

The Estacada Assembly of God will host conferences on the Holy Spirit with special guests Tim and Rochelle Enloe at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 5, and at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 6.

The conference will focus on personal understanding, experiencing and ministering the Holy Spirit’s power along with anointed music, preaching of the word and seeking God.

SERVICE AND SUPPORT GROUPS

Grief Share

The Grief Share group helps those who have lost a loved one find comfort and acceptance and to find the joy that remains in their lives.

Confidentiality is required of all who attend. The group now meets from 2-3:30 p.m. Mondays at Clackamas Valley Baptist Church. For more information, call 503-630-5484.

AA offers hope

The Estacada friendship group of AA offers hope and help for the alcoholic who still suffers. Meetings are held from 7-8:30 p.m. every Monday and Friday at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church Community Hall, 297 N. Al-Anon and Alateen

If someone’s drinking bothers you, Al-Anon and Alateen can help.

Meetings are available just a 20-minute drive from Estacada at Eastridge Church, 14100 S.E. Sunnyside Road, Clackamas.

Alateen meets at 7 p.m. every Tuesday.

July Fourth Chamber Parade seeks volunteers

The Estacada Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to help with judging and traffic control of the Fourth of July Parade.

Summer Celebration
