EVENTS

Estacada High School Fall Play

"Curtains" runs from Nov.16-18. Performances are at 7 p.m. every night in the Estacada Auditorium, 500 N.E. Main St. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors and $2 for children younger than 12.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner

Estacada Assembly of God will host a free Thanksgiving dinner from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, at 478 N.W. Wade St. For more information, call 503-630-6580.

Eagle Creek Presbyterian Church Dinner and Bazaar

The Eagle Creek Presbyterian Church bazaar will take place from 3:30-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. There will be a ham dinner at the event on Friday. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 10 or younger. Eagle Creek Presbyterian Church is at 29455 S.E. Burnett Road.

Community Open House

City leaders will host a Community Open House to discuss walking and bicycling improvements for Estacada's Active Transportation Plan from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St.

Lights on Broadway

The city's annual tree lighting celebration will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Harvest Market Square in downtown Estacada.

Children's Bible Class

Bible Release, hosted by Estacada Assembly of God, is a multi-church program for children in kingerdarten through fifth grade that runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays through April 25. The program features Bible classes and singing. Transportation is provided to and from Estacada Assembly of God. For more information, contact Brian Simmons at 503-630-2247. Christmas Festival of the Choirs

The 24th annual Christmas Festival of the Choirs is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Estacada Auditorium, 500 N.E. Main St. Singers and choir groups come from local churches and schools. One of the choirs is comprised of local singers who perform selections from Handel's "The Messiah" and is seeking additional singers. All vocal ranges are welcome. Rehearsals for this choir are at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 30498 S.E. Eagle Creek Road.

Garden Club

The Estacada Garden Club meets from 1-3 p.m. the second Thursday of the month in the Flora Room at the Estacada Public Library, 825 N.W. Wade St. Visitors and new members are welcome.

Quilt Club

The Skip-a-Week club meets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Garfield Grange, 33460 S.E. Divers Road. For information, call 503-630-4669.

Spinning Group

The Estacada spinning and fiber arts group meets from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Fridays at Betty Veveiros CPA, 309 S.W. Highway 224.

Food Bank

The Estacada Area Food Bank is open from 10-11:45 a.m. and 12:30-3:45 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. Food is available monthly to community members in Estacada, Eagle Creek, Colton, Carver and Barton who met income requirements. To join the all volunteer organization or to get food, call 503-630-2888 or stop by the Food Bank at 272 Broadway St.

City Council

The Estacada City Council meets from 7-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St. Call 503-630-8270.

School Board

The Estacada School Board meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the Estacada High School music room, 355 N.E. Sixth Ave.

Chamber Luncheon

The next Estacada Chamber of Commerce Leadership Luncheon is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St. Doors open at 11:45 a.m. Bob Cochran and Lori Hall of Clackamas Community College will speak, and lunch will be available for $10. An RSVP is required for lunch. Ornament workshop

There will be a free workshop on making Czech glass bead ornaments from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17. Registration is required and there is a limit of 25 total participants. This class is for adults, but those ages 14-17 may attend with an adult. Register in person at the library or call 503-30-8273 .

A-Z Storytime

A-Z storytime is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon every Wednesday. The event is an opportunity for children ages infant to 4 to learn the alphabet through reading, singing and playing.

Storytime Playgroup

The Me & My Preschool Storytime Playgroup takes place from 10:30 a.m. to noon every Friday.

Music and Movement Storytime

Me & My Music, a music and movment focused storytime, is held from 11 a.m. to noon on Mondays. The program helps children develop early literacy skills through sound and rhythm using song, story and intruments.

Lego Club

The Lego club meets from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. from September to December on the third Saturday of the month. Come make amazing LEGO creations with Guru Blair.

Get Crafty

The Get Crafty group meets at the library from 2-3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through Dec. 27. The group meets to relax and socialize with others while crafting. Warm tea is provided.

Volunteer opportunities

The Center needs volunteers for many different jobs, including Meals on Wheels drivers, drivers to medical appointments, kitchen and dining room help, answering phones and greeting visitors, and yard work.  Call 503-630-7454 for more information on how to volunteer.

Community Center

Board meeting

The next Community Center Board meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the center.  The meeting is open to the public.

Free Saturday breakfast

Estacada Community Outreach will host a free breakfast from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the center. All are welcome.

Dinner, live music

and dancing

An all-ages evening of dinner, live music performed by the Classic Country Connections Band and dancing will be held with dinner served at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the center.  The cost is $8 for dinner and dancing, or $4 if you come at 6 p.m. for music and dancing only. There will be a 50/50 raffle to benefit Meals on Wheels.

Weekday lunches and games

Lunch is served in the center's dining room for all ages at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with full salad bar on Tuesdays and Fridays. Donations are suggested for seniors; lunch is $4 for those under 60. Chicken foot dominoes follows Monday and Thursday lunches. Bingo follows lunch on Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday breakfasts

The center offers a $5 breakfast for all ages at 9 a.m. Wednesdays with a door prize drawing and with pinochle and cribbage following breakfast for those interested. Call 503-630-7454 for bus service to breakfast.

Zumba classes

Zumba classes are held at the center from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday evenings and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. some Saturday mornings. Zumba is $5 per class, or $25 for a monthly pass. Call 503-680-4338 for more information. There will be no zumba on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Dance Fitness with Susan

Exercise to music for all fitness levels on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with Susan Wagner at the center from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Free Tai Chi classes

Free Tai Chi classes for ages 12 and up are held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at the center.

Seniors exercise class

Exercise classes for seniors are held at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays at the center.

Tae Kwon Do classes

Tae Kwon Do classes for ages 8 and up are held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays downstairs at the center. Call 503-975-7119 for information and cost.
