Clackamas County Commissioners recently announced openings on the county's Budget Committee, Community Health Council, Public Safety Council and Solid Waste Commission.
The Budget Committee has four openings that vary in length to up to three years. Applicants must be residents of the county and available to attend a series of meetings during May and June to review and approve the county's budget for the following fiscal year.
The group also meets quarterly to review and discuss other budget-related matters.
The Community Health Council has two openings, both of which are three-year terms. Non-patients and parents or guardians of patients who live or work in Clackamas County are particularly encouraged to apply.
Members of the group are responsible for the oversight of a federally-funded grant that provides primary
care, dental and behavioral health services to county residents
Members of the Public Safety Council is searching for a community member, a city administrator and a family violence advocate to join their team.
The council has a variety of goals, including developing plans for the use of state and local resources to appropriately and effectively addressing the local adult and juvenile offender populations, preventing criminal involvement of youths, coordinating local criminal justice policy among all criminal justice entities and providing support for pro-
grams that strengthen families.
The Solid Waste Commission has two vacancies, both of which are four year terms. The commission makes recommendations after reviewing rate changes, monitoring franchise agreements, and reviewing changes in leg-
islation affecting solid
waste management and recycling.
