Police Log

Information for this column comes from Sandy Police Department public records. The Sandy Police Department provides service in Estacada. Officers recently filed reports on the following incidents.

ARRESTS

Kristopher J. Holmer, 31, of Estacada was arrested in the 200 block of Southeast Highway 224 around 3:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8. Holmer was wanted on a fugitive warrant out of Walla Walla County, Wash. Holmer also was cited for a small amount of marijuana allegedly found in his possession during his arrest. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

Walter E. Bechtel, 49, of Estacada was arrested in the 300 block of South Broadway Street around 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8. Bechtel was wanted on a Washington County warrant for misdemeanor driving while suspended, failing to perform the duties of a driver and reckless driving.

An officer pulled over Brady M. Rapp, 26, of Eagle Creek for an equipment violation on Highway 224 and South Broadway on Thursday, Aug. 14. After allegedly seeing a meth pipe in plain view, the officer searched the car and reported finding several meth pipes, money, scales and a small amount of methamphetamine. Rapp was arrested on accusations of meth possession. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail. Bail was set at $15,000.

Joshua D. Ward, 38, of Estacada was arrested in the 800 block of Northwest Wade Street on Saturday, Aug. 16, on a warrant for violating his parole. Ward had been on parole for fourth-degree assault. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

Following a fight with his mother, a 16-year-old boy was arrested in the 700 block of North Broadway Street on Sunday, Aug. 17, on accusations of fourth-degree assault and menacing. The teen was taken to the Clackamas County Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center and then released to his mother.

Trenten S. Reed, 20, of Estacada was arrested in the 300 block of Northeast Second Avenue on Sunday, Aug. 17. Reed was wanted on a Clackamas County warrant for allegedly violating his parole. Reed had been on parole for fourth-degree assault. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

ASSAULT

A resident of the 300 block of Northeast Ginseng Drive told police he had been assaulted by his neighbor Sunday, Aug. 10. He didn’t want to prosecute his neighbor, but wanted the incident documented in case of further problems.

HUMAN SERVICES

An officer responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of Northeast Hill Way around 10:05 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11. The officer suggested community-based resources to the people involved and forwarded a report to the Department of Human Services.

An officer accompanied a Department of Human Services case worker on a welfare check in the 800 block of Northeast Hill Way on Tuesday, Aug. 12.

STOLEN VEHICLE

Around 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, a man told police he’d allowed a woman to borrow his vehicle around 11 a.m. that day for a short trip, but she had not returned. The woman didn’t return phone calls. The vehicle was entered as stolen in law enforcement databases.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

The driver of a 2011 Toyota pickup backed over a reflector post on the side of Highway 224 on Friday, Aug. 8. The truck and the post were damaged.

THEFT

An officer responded to a theft in the 700 block of Northwest Industrial Way on Thursday, Aug. 7. A man told police his storage unit had been damaged in a car crash July 27, and he noticed property was missing from the unit the next day.

Around 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, a woman reported a bag full of disc golf equipment worth about $400 had been stolen from the back of her truck while it was parked in the 300 block of South Broadway Street.

On Monday, Aug. 11, a resident of the 800 block of Northwest Wade Street told police a bicycle had been stolen from her property sometime before Aug. 9.

At 8:44 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, a man told police a woman had stolen some of his checks, forged his signature and cashed them. An Estacada woman allegedly admitted to an officer that she had stolen and cashed the checks. The police report will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for consideration of charges.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION

On Saturday, Aug. 16, police took a man in the 300 block of South Broadway Street into protective custody for being too intoxicated to be able take care of himself.
