A rare win over Baylor
Texas State and Shelby Vasconcellos-Mattocks continued to make waves in collegiate volleyball last week.
The Clackamas High graduate and Bobcat freshman outside hitter made 10 kills, had two service aces and had seven digs in a 3-1 win over Baylor (25-15, 25-19, 20-25, 26-24). Vasconcellos-Mattocks had a huge kill in the final game, putting the ball to the floor to tie the game at 24-24.
It was the first time Texas State had beaten Baylor since 1996. The Bearcats improved to 8-2 on the season with the win.
