Oak Grove achieves 'quaint, yesteryear feel'

Share

New shops in Oak Grove are planning grand-opening celebrations as the Trolley Trail Market in Oak Grove starts the day before Mother's Day, May 10.

Historic Downtown Oak Grove also will host a classic car event on that same date, weather permitting. Anyone interested in showing their classic car should contact Tom Popelka, 503-810-4758.

Shops in Oak Grove planning festivities include a new hair/nail salon that moved from Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard, Hair Designers on the Trolly Trail; Mix 'n' Match Creamery with coffee and ice cream; and Tate's Treasures with upcycled furniture and antiques.

"Downtown Oak Grove has a quaint, yesteryear feel," said Maureen Nott, HDOG executive director. "That's what we're aiming for."

HDOG also will host event-driven markets on second Saturdays from May through September, hoping to draw vendors who are interested in doing one market day a month, rather than every Saturday. Vendors can find an application at oakgrovemainst.com to set up in the space behind the shops, entrance is between 2132 and 2144 S.E. Oak Grove Blvd.
