Ledding Library attracts award-winning roots music

Award-winning roots music quartet Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising will bring its musical magic to the Milwaukie stage of the Ledding Library, 10660 S.E. 21st St., at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1.

Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising are known to present stories of everyday America in their songs. Members include the 2008 RMA Bluegrass Songwriter of the Year, the 2010 City Love Music Songwriter of the Year and lead singer whose songs have been compared to those written by Woody Guthrie and Bruce Springsteen. The ensemble tries not only to connect with the audience from the stage, but also makes every effort to give back to the community.

The quartet began and ended 2013 with releases from their “In the World” CD, that reached No. 1 in its genre in the category of downloaded for radio airplay.
