Ross Dress for Less will soon arrive in Oregon City to anchor a 16.5-acre McLoughlin Boulevard shopping center.

Kristin Jones, leasing manager for the Oregon City Shopping Center, noted Ross had no official opening date, but said it likely would be mid-October. Ross is renovating a 25,000-square-foot space, or 10 precent of the complex.

“We think it’s going to be an awesome fit for the community and for the center,” she said.

Jones added that a Hallmark store, Rodda Paint and Oregon City Sporting Goods had moved for other reasons, so “it just worked out” to attract Ross as an anchor store.

The center has seen a lot of change lately. In 2011, Kaiser Permanente’s newest 6,500-square-foot dental office replaced two suites of general offices at the shopping center that were held by a cell phone company and a dollar store. Then, Orange County, Calif., development company Investment Concepts, Inc., which bought the site in 2010, razed the smaller early 1960s-era buildings along McLoughlin. This spring, Yo Factory moved in.
