McLoughlin reopening celebrated

After the 44 hours of around-the-clock work that closed McLoughlin Boulevard/ Highway 99E this weekend, TriMet and city leaders hosted a Milwaukie “Open for Business” celebration.

McLoughlin reopened at 6 p.m. on Sunday – 11 hours ahead of schedule – after crews worked around the clock placing six large steel girders, part of the Kellogg Bridge that will carry light rail from downtown Milwaukie over Kellogg Lake, McLoughlin and residential streets before returning to grade south of River Road.
