New exhibits, news of local artists are listed here on the last week of each month

Susan Frohnmayers photography will be exhibited at 510 Museum and Art Space beginning Oct. 10.

n 510 Museum and ARTSpace — 510 First St., Lake Oswego. Showing GWW 15: In Studio, work from the 2013-15 Gallery Without Walls artists. Closing reception to be held Oct. 4, 5 to 7 p.m. Invitational Photographers exhibit opens Oct. 10, includes works by Eddie Greenly, Sean Minogue, Tom Carey, Susan Frohnmayer, Loren Nelson and Levi Sims. Show runs through Nov. 10, reception planned for Nov. 1.

n The Art Gym — Marylhurst University campus. Showing Fernanda D’Agostino: The Method of Loci, Oct. 7 through Dec. 8. An unconventional retrospective that encourages viewers to investigate ideas through architecture, sculpture and media. Preview reception Oct. 6, 3 to 5 p.m. Moveable conversation planned for Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. In the Streff Gallery in the Shoen Library on campus view Inkworks IV Oct. 3 through 31, featuring the art of Marylhurst alumna Diane Flack.

n Celebrate the Gifts Art Festival — Oct. 4, 5 and 6 at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 10445 SW Canterbury Lane, Tigard. Opening reception Oct. 4, 7 to 9 p.m. with $5 admission. Open Oct. 5 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 6. Features art, gourmet desserts and music.

n Hoffman Gallery — Lewis & Clark College. Showing Figure/Ground, Stephen Hayes, a 30-Year Retrospective. Hayes has used the human figure and the landscape as twin muses in his exploration of paint and painterly prints. Exhibit runs through Dec. 15. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

n Forest of Arts — Hopkins Demonstration Forest, 16750 S. Brockway Rd., Oregon City. Juried art show and demonstrations of forest-related art forms, installations and hands-on activities. Oct. 12, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

n Lakewood Center Gallery — 368 S. State St., Lake Oswego. Showing the art of Dyanne Locati and Theresa Andreas-O’Leary. Andreas-O’Leary is participating in Portland Open Studios later in Oct.Gallery open during box office hours.

n Fins, Feathers & Fur, Local 14 14th annual Art Show and Sale — World Forestry Center, 4033 Canyon Rd., Portland. Oct. 3 through 6, 88 women artists showing fresh, fun and fabulous art. Admission is a suggested $5 donation.

n Matthew’s Gallery — 15800 Upper Boones Ferry Road, Lake Oswego. Showing a collection of recent acquisitions of 20th century Oregon artists.

n West Linn artist Dave Haslett is showing five monumental stone sculptures at the Lan Su Chinese Garden in Portland through September.

n West Linn artist Jan Rimerman is displaying art in the Justice Center windows, between Second and Third on Madison in downtown Portland and also at LOCAL 14 Art Show and Sale Oct. 3 through 6 at the World Forestry Center.

n Painters’ Showcase — The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club, 4805 SW 229th Ave., Aloha. Sept. 27 and 28th, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Reception each evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Lake Oswego artists Linda Terhark, Maud Durland, Kris Preslan, Kay Allenbaugh, Annette Zack and Airi Foote are exhibiting their art. Admission is free and there will be a drawing for eight original pieces of art.

n Portland Handweavers Guild Fall Show, Sale — Oct. 11, 6 to 9 p.m. and Oct. 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Multnomah Arts Center, 7688 SW Capital Hwy., Portland. See works of spinning, weaving and basketry; purchase one-of-a-kind handwoven items. Admission is free.

n Portland Open Studios — Oct., 12, 13 and 19 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at art studios throughout the metropolitan area. Tickets range in price from $7.50 for map only, $9.99 for an iPhone or Android app or $20 for a full-color calendar tour guide. Learn more at
