elong Crook County resident Richard "Dick" Tooley died March 13, 2001 at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. He was 76 years old.
He was born August 27, 1924 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Orson and Bertha (Gast) Tooley. He was raised in Swatare, Minn. where he graduated from high school.
He married MaryAnn Hinnenkamp in Mason City, Iowa in 1944 and moved to central Oregon in 1950. During his lifetime he worked as a mechanic and retired as a miner.
He was a member of the Prineville Community Church, Prineville Eagles and the Prineville Elks. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cribbage and pinochle and was a past State Cribbage Champion. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife MaryAnn Tooley of Prineville; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Penny Tooley of Redmond and Daniel and Teresa Tooley of Prineville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Gordy Allured of Reno, Nev., Sandra and Joey Severance of Tacoma, Wash., Judy and Brad Hadfield of Portland and Jan and Marty Howard of Prineville; brother, Paul Tooley of Maryland; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Max Baer Heart Fund in care of Prineville Eagles Lodge, 235 NE 4th St. or St. Charles Medical Center Foundation, 2500 NE Neff Rd., Bend 97701.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at Prineville Community Church on Monday March 19.
A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Prineville Eagles Lodge, 235 NE Fourth St.
