U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley will return to Prineville for a local town hall on Saturday, March 18, at 12:30 p.m., at the Crook County High School Auditorium.
"I invite all Crook County residents to come and discuss what we need to do to strengthen our state and our nation," said Merkley, a Democrat, who has represented Oregon in the U.S. Senate — along with Sen. Ron Wyden — since 2009.
Saturday afternoon, Merkley will be in Redmond, at Ridgeview High School, at 3:30 p.m. He will start the day in Madras, with a town hall at the Madras Performing Arts Center, located at the Madras High School grounds, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
"In our 'We the People' democracy, town hall meetings are an essential tool for me to hear from Oregonians and represent their interests back in D.C.," said Merkley. "I invite all residents of Jefferson, Crook and Deschutes counties to come and discuss what we need to do to strengthen our state and our nation."
"Also, if you are running into red tape accessing veterans' benefits or dealing with Social Security or Medicare, or having trouble getting what you need from other federal agencies, I will have a constituent services worker on hand," he noted.
Since joining the Senate in 2009, Merkley has held a town hall in each of Oregon's 36 counties every year. Jefferson, Crook and Deschutes counties will be his 295th, 296th and 297th town halls as a U.S. senator.
