Community Open House slated at North Willamette Research Center
Oregon State University is welcoming the public to its annual Community Open House at the North Willamette Research and Extension Center (NWREC) Wednesday, July 23, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Hay wagon tours of the research center will be conducted every 45 minutes beginning at 4 p.m. The tours will showcase field research and demonstration projects conducted at the center. Included will be work being done on strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, fresh market vegetables, Christmas trees and nursery crops. Research and Extension faculty and staff of Oregon State University will be on hand to visit with attendees and discuss their work with the farming community. Berry tasting and fresh local vegetables will be available, too. The Canby High School Future Farmers of America will grill hamburgers and hot dogs for sale as a fund raiser for the program.
