Canby Legion Auxiliary plans free breakfast for vets
The Canby American Legion Auiliary will hold a free breakfast for all veterans Sunday, Nov. 10, from 8-11:30 a.m. at 424 NW First St.
The breakfast will include a choice of bacon, chicken fried steak, sausage or ham, pancakes, hash browns, eggs to order and English muffin. Beverages include coffee, milk and juice.
Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 10 and under.

Aurora Legion Auxiliary plans gift wrapping evening
The Aurora American Legion Auxiliary will meet Thursday at 5:30 p.m. downstairs in the Legion hall, 21510 Main St., Aurora, to gift wrap shoeboxes in holiday trim for the annual gift shop at Portlands VA Medical Center.
The groups regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. Volunteers are welcome and asked to bring scissors, wrapping paper and tape.
Bridging Cultures will offer Thanksgiving meal
Bridging Cultures will hold its fifth annual multicultural Thanksgiving meal at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Baker Prairie Middle School. The event will feature turkey and trimmings along with pollo enchilada (spicy chicken).
Entertainment will be provided by Mexica Tiahui, Aztec dance group from Portland. The event is free and open to the public.

The Canby United Methodist Church will hold an American Red Cross blood drive Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 1:30 to 7 p.m. at the church, 1520 N. Holly St.

Canby unit of UMW set for general meeting Nov. 7
The Canby unit of the United Methodist Women will have a general meeting Thursday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. World thank offering boxes will be taken after fellowship and refreshments.
The program will be a study of the Lords Prayer led by Lorraine Dworschak and Nadine Gilmore, president of the Cascade District of United Methodist Women.
The public is welcome to attend.
