Letter to Canby Herald Editor John Baker from the week of April 3

On March 29, 2017, a letter to the editor was published in the Canby Herald from Canby resident Bill Fenton. The letter indicated that our president is a "liar' and not to be trusted. The grand whopper of lies being the accusation that "our previous president tapped the lines at Trump Tower." The letter concluded with the question, "Can we sacrifice American blood on his word?"

I would contend that all presidents will sometimes lie and all presidents will sometimes tell the truth. We are all like that, both good and bad. It is up to us to look closely at what is said to determine truth. Who? What? When? Where? Why?

Are unproven accusations lies? Can we have trials without both prosecution and defense presented? Are we all guilty of a "rush to judgement?" Who is a reliable witness. What is reliable evidence? Have we check out the process because it is too hard or too complicated?

If we look for good, we will find it. If we look for bad, we will find it. Both are all around us and both are reality.
