Thanks offered for community support

Letter to Canby Herald Editor John Baker from the week of Feb 27

I want to publicly thank the community of Canby. I moved here not quite a year ago (grew up in OC and Eugene) and six months later was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the time I was working at Cutsforth's Marketplace. My fellow employees organized an amazing fundraiser held last Saturday.

So many local vendors participated to make it special, provide food, drink and music. I saw neighbors and friends who have helped by walking my dog, bringing me food and taking me to chemo. I met people who I hope to call friend, and am reminded again how lucky I am to be a part of the Cutsforth and Canby Communities.

I especially would like to thank Frank and Kathe Cutsforth for being so kind and supportive. Kendra and Angela for their hard work organizing the "Ladies Night Out." There is not enough room to list all the local businesses who contributed, but know that 68 of them did. Please, if you have a choice, support a local business. One more shout out to Mike from Belvedere Barber Shop who wouldn't let me pay when he shaved my head when my hair started to fall out.

I am beyond grateful to live in such a beautiful place filled with so many outstanding people.
