Library will host adult discussion series
The Canby Public Library will present a free four-part reading, viewing and discussion series for adults called Pushing the Limits.
The series will explore ideas about nature, connection, survival and knowledge. Since the beginning of time, humans have imagined and achieved ways to push the boundaries of the physical world.
The café style discussions will be led by Dr. Ernest Tory Blackwell, a biology instructor at Clackamas Community College.
The first session will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m., discussing survival and the book Arctic Drift by Clive Cussler.
The remaining discussions will be March 4 at 4 p.m., discussing nature and the book When the Killings Done by T. C. Boyle; March 25 at 6 p.m. – Thunderstruck by Erik Larson.
The series concludes April 22 at 6 p.m. with a discussion of knowledge and part one of the book The Land of Painted Caves by Jean Auel.
