Thanks offered for help with Meals on Wheels program
To the editor:
On behalf of the Friends of the Canby Adult Center board, members and many center users, Id like to express our gratitude to the staff and friends of Pioneer Pump for the wonderful fundraising event they held to support our Meals on Wheels program.
Pioneer Pump hosted a Texas Hold em tournament at its facility on Nov. 2, raising more than $2,000 for senior meals. Special thanks go to Adam Cnossen, employee of Pioneer Pump, for taking the initiative to launch this event and pull it all together.
We also wish to thank all of those who donated gifts for the raffle, as well as the players themselves who participated so generously during the event.
Were grateful to be part of such a generous community.

Year in review offers a fun look at what Canby offers
To the editor:
I read with great interest the annual Year in Review that the Canby Herald puts together.
I think what makes it so interesting to me is that so many of the stories that are listed refresh my memory so nicely. I know its a small sampling of what the Herald produces each year and is in no particular order of importance, but I enjoy the walk down memory lane each year.
Reading the synopsis of the stories that have appeared throughout the year offer everyone a glimpse into the workings, priorities, highs and lows of a community like Canby.
The second half is, I assume, in the coming issue, so it will be interesting to recall the stories that are mentioned and the time and place in which they occur. The past is a wonderful teacher and I enjoy being reminded of the great lessons weve undergone over the last year.
Mark me down as a passionate reader of your year in review.
