SUBMITTED PHOTO - Canby High School had 10 musicians tabbed for the 2017 High School Honor Band recently.
Presented by the Oregon Army National Guard, 234th Army Band, and the OMEA District 13, the students were: Eden Bell (clarinet), Samantha Owings (flute), Gage Kovalski and Elaina Philpot (percussion), Seraphina Routley (tenor sax), Nick Ovchinnokov (trombone), Carlos Estrada (baritone BC), Tamisha Williams (alto sax), Kriten Currie (trumpet) and Grace Harney (trumpet).

The February concert was conducted by James Batchellor, director of bands at Central Michigan University, after eight hours of working with professional musicians in both sections and as a whole group.

"The intensity, focus and passion of these students with their great talents and willingness to play together," were immensely inspiring, said Batchellor.
