Two people were injured Saturday morning when their small airplane crashed in a wooded area near Hubbard.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said pilot Robert Teneyck, 81, of Woodburn, and passenger Rosalie Carman, 70, of Portland, were treated at area hospitals for what appeared to be minor injuries.

The plane crashed near South Meridian and Whiskey Hill roads about 10:48 a.m. Both occupants were out of the plane and walking around.

The plane was enroute from Lenhardt Airport in Hubbard to the Mulino Airport, deputies said. The pilot saw his altitude was too low as he approached some trees, but was unable to correct in time. The plane went down when its wing struck a tree.

The Aurora Fire District and Woodburn Ambulance assisted with the crash response.

The FAA was notified of the crash and will investigate.
