The city of Canby is closing in on choosing a new city administrator
The search conducted by the Prothman Co. firm received about 27 applications for the job, which pays $120,000 - $145,000.
After reviewing the applications and conducting preliminary interviews, Prothman will select a group of 5-7 semifinalists for the City Council to review this week.
Council will review the applications at a July 16 executive session.
Council and the Prothman firm will select the finalists who will be invited to attend a public reception and interview with the council, staff and community leaders.
The public reception is scheduled for 6 p.m., Tuesday in the Canby Police Station Community Room.
The city is seeking a successor to previous city administrator Greg Ellis who left March 3 to accept a state job with Oregon Solutions.
In the meantime, Amanda Zeiber, assistant city administrator and human resources director, has served as interim city administrator.
She also served in that capacity for eight months five years ago after Mark Adcock left.
