Police raid Canby apartment, seek female person of interest
Police are seeking 53-year-old Maria Shaw, also known as Maria Weaver and Maria Stout, in connection with Wednesdays search warrant
Police are seeking a 53-year-old Canby woman after an early Wednesday warrant search of her apartment turned up items used in the possession and distribution of methamphetamine.
Authorities are seeking Maria Shaw, also known as Maria Weaver and Maria Stout. She is the ex-wife of child murderer Ward Weaver and the mother of Paul Francis Weaver who is one of three men charged in the Feb. 16 murder of a Grants Pass man near their apartment complex in what police called a drug deal gone bad. The men are in custody and awaiting trial.
Chief Bret Smith said officers obtained the search warrant after investigating complaints that Shaw and her son were selling meth from their unit at Forest Manor Apartments at 292 S. Locust Ave.
The search at 6 a.m. Wednesday turned up drug paraphernalia, drug records and other items used in the possession and distribution of methamphetamine, Smith said.
Shaw, the principal person of interest in the investigation, was not home when the warrant and search were executed. Smith asked that anyone knowing her whereabouts call Canby Police at 503-266-1104.
