Chamber director gives her notice

Bev Doolittle resigns her post effective last Thursday.

Beverly DoolittleBeverly Doolittle has resigned the position of executive director of the Canby Area Chamber of Commerce that she has held nearly 14 years.

Doolittle resigned, effective Thursday, Jan. 23, in a letter to the chamber board of directors, said board chairman Ryan Oliver. No reason was given for her resignation.

“We’re sorry to see her leave,” he said. “She has meant a lot to this community, and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

The chamber will be looking for someone to replace her, he said. “We’re right in the middle of organizing for our gala event which is this Saturday, so we’ve got a lot going on,” he said.

Next Thursday and Friday, (Jan. 30-31) will be the chamber board retreat, Oliver said. “At that point, we will put together a game plan on how to move forward.”
