Something wild and colorful is popping up in Canby


Mother Nature has never been one to be outdone when it comes to colorful displays. The fall leaves overhead, for example. But, don’t forget to look down. Mother Nature doesn’t spare the paint brush low to the ground.

Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita, had popped up in a few places around Canby. the large tops are highlighted by a bright red color. Especially, striking are large, bright red amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita. It also is called the fairytale mushroom, the one often seen in illustrations in children’s books. It’s pretty, but also is poisonous and psychoactive. It’s thought to be the mushroom responsible for the effects that Alice in Wonderland experienced after nibbling one.
