To celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, the Canby Public Library has invited Grupo Condor to present Ethnic Music Alive on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m.
This 40-minute program is aimed at families with young children. Grupo Condor will take the audience through a high energy journey through Latin America. Group members will talk about their instruments and tell stories about the origin of the music. Music in the Stacks will feature Mariachi Calavera on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2:30 p.m. Mariachi is traditional folk music that originated in the state of Jalisco and is now loved and appreciated throughout the world. Mariachi Calavera has played together for more than 15 years, celebrating its heritage with vibrant sounds. On Saturday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m., families with young children are invited to explore their Spanish heritage through stories and crafts. All materials will be provided.
