Aurora mayor Taylor resigns post


Aurora Mayor Gregory M. Taylor has resigned, effective immediately.

In an Aug. 19 letter to Council President Bill Graupp, council members and city staff and employees, Taylor said, “Due to personal concerns beyond my control it has become necessary to resign my position as mayor effective immediately.

“As per our city charter-code, the duties and responsibilities as mayor shall be assumed by the council president until such time as the city council selects him or someone else to permanently fill the duly elected position.”
