Beaverton Teen Idol semifinalists to compete for area's best pop voice on Saturday

$5 tickets available for event featuring 18 semifinalists from area schools


Eighteen finalists for Beaverton Teen Idol will compete on Saturday afternoon to determine the best pop voice in Beaverton while raising funds for HomePlate Youth Services to help combat youth homelessness.

A record number of students turned out for this year’s tryouts, making for a competitive selection process. The youth advisory board accepted 18 semi-finalists who will compete on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Beaverton City Library Auditorium, 12375 S.W. Fifth St. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $5, with all proceeds benefitting HomePlate Youth Services.

Semi-finalists include Mckenna Albion, Brooklyn Atack, Kelsey Bentz, Brianna Braukmann, Evan Hathaway, Tristan Herrera, Dana Hicks, Scyon Lucas, Samhita Meghashyam, Jade Milner, Megan Moore, Savannah Panah, Kaiya Pelletier, Jesse Rosario, Joshua Simon, Jahlett Tofi, Chi-Nhan Vo and Kevin White.

The advisory board is seeking prize donations and sponsorships to help raise additional funds for the event.

The board was established in 2000 to provide a voice for youth in the Beaverton community, serve the common good and provide a voice for youth in decisions and policies of the city. Comprising 30 students from Beaverton-area high schools, the advisory board focuses on community service projects, promoting youth activism and youth involvement.
