Sexton Mountain Elementary hosts 5K, wellness expo and fun run

Prizes go to top three men, women 5K finishers


Community partners in the Sexton Mountain neighborhood and the Sexton Mountain Elementary School Parent Teacher Club invite walkers, runners and health enthusiasts to the first “Run with the Eagle” 5K, a half-mile Kid’s Fun Run and a Community Wellness Expo on Saturday starting at 8 a.m. at Sexton Mountain Elementary School, 15645 S.W. Sexton Mountain Drive.

The 5K course begins and ends at Sexton Mountain Elementary School, between Hart Road and Nora Road and winding through the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District’s Westside Regional Trail.

Prizes will go to the top three men and women finishers. Packets can be picked up at the school on race day beginning at 8 a.m. Registration for the 5K is $25. The Kids’ Fun Run is free.

Race shirts are available for purchase with registration for $5. All proceeds from the race will support students and programs at the school.

A free Community Wellness Expo will be held in the school gymnasium from 8 to 11 a.m., for which the community is encouraged to learn about a variety of health programs and services available. The Sexton Mountain Neighborhood Association Committee will have a table with information to share about how the public can get involved. Visit its table to spin the wheel and win a prize.
