Sen. Hass to share education goal updates at forum
Other local leaders to participate in Tuesday evening event
Sen. Mark Hass, D-Beaverton, will host a meeting to discuss progress on Oregons education goals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Beaverton High School, 13000 S.W. Second St.
Hass, who serves as chairman of the Senate Education and Workforce Development Committee, will provide an update on progress Oregon has made towards its "40-40-20" goal. The name refers to 40 percent of adult Oregonians holding a bachelors degree or greater, 40 percent holding an associates degree, and all state residents completing high school.
Hass, a Democrat representing Oregon's 14th district, will be joined by Rep. Tobias Read, D-Beaverton, and Jeff Barker, D-Aloha, Oregon Deputy Superintendent of Education Rob Saxton, Chief Education Officer Nancy Golden, and Jeff Rose, superintendent of the Beaverton School District.
