The public is invited to attend a town hall about the potential of the next Cascadia earthquake and emergency preparedness on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Beaverton City Library, 12375 S.W. Fifth St.

State Reps. Tobias Read and Jeff Barker and state Sen. Mark Hass will be joined by Kent Yu, chairman of the Oregon Seismic Safety Policy Advisory Commission, and Francisco Ianni from the American Red Cross.

Yu and Ianni will talk about what people can do to prepare for a natural disaster such as a large-scale earthquake. Guests will answer questions about emergency preparedness and issues at the state level.
