Computer classes: February 2014

The Multnomah County Library offers the following computer classes for beginners in February. The classes are free, but registration is required. Sign up online, at the library or by calling 503-988-5234.

Meet the Computer

Never tried a computer before? In this two-session course, you will learn about the computer, the keyboard and the mouse, and how to use them. This is an excellent class to take before Introduction to Computers (see below). Meet the Computer will be offered at the following library branches:

Belmont Library, 1038 S.E. 39th Ave., 503-988-5382 — Wednesdays, Feb. 19 and 26, 10 a.m.-noon.

Hollywood Library, 4040 N.E. Tillamook St., 503-988-5391 —Saturdays, Feb. 15 and 22, 1-3 p.m.

Introduction to Computers

Learn all the basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows, using Microsoft Word, surfing the Internet and using email. This course is ideal for someone who has a little experience with the computer but wants to know more. It will be offered at the following libraries:

Sellwood-Moreland Library, 7860 S.E. 13th Ave., 503-988-5398 — Tuesdays, Feb. 4-25, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Woodstock Library, 6008 S.E. 49th Ave., 503-988-5399 — Mondays, Feb. 3-March 3, 9:30 a.m. to noon (except Feb. 17).
